Challenges galore!

First of all a huge thank-you to Alexis Smith who gave me  this lovely Stylish Blogger Award.  Make sure you check out her blog, "Scrappin' Sistah",  here.

So here is the deal with the award:

After receiving this award I link it back to the person who sent it to me, then I list 8 facts/statements about myself, and finally I pass it on to blogs I have discovered recently!!

So here I go:
1.   My favourite product is Glimmer Mist (followed closely by alcohol ink, and.. ...oh there's too many to list!)
2.   The last concert I went to was.... Lady Gaga.
3.   One of my fav movies is The Hangover.  (...that ...and Forest Gump)
4.   I grew up in the Australian bush, but had an American accent (thanks to my Mum)
5.   I get most of my scrapping done late at night at the dining table.
6.   I love Zarrafa's coffee.
7.   I arrived at my wedding on a Harley Davidson bike.
8.   Parasailing is on my bucketlist.

And now to pass the award on to two wonderful blogs that I have recently found:
*Wendy Kwok, her amazing work can be seen at  Capture Each Moment.  She has a heap of gorgeous layouts and projects on her blog.
*Tara Orr at her stunning blog  (make yourself a coffee, sit down, and enjoy the eye candy)

I've been getting a few layout done...yay!  Thought if I push myself to do these challenges I'd get more scrapping done. And it worked.
So here are my entries.
The first is for Creative Scrappers

The next challenge is a sketch challenge at The Scrappiest.

The last layout is for a recipe challenge at Debs Creations, where we  had to use the following items on our layout;  chipboard, ink, pearls, paint, stamped image/texture, lace/ribbon, circle, and hidden journaling.

The crochet doiley has been hand dyed.
I've used a variety of techniques on the A2Z Scraplets chipboard, including inking, embossing, and painting with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint.

I've stamped and journaled on the tag, which tucks into a pocket behind my photo.

Scrappassion International DT Sneak peak

A few photos of the flooding in my area....
The bridge is about 4 or 5 metres under water.

This is the Logan River (normally a small creek at this part)
The road a little further on.....the bridge is about 1 metre under water.
We finally have a day without rain today, although we still haven't seen any sun.

Here's a sneak peak of my DT layout for Scrappassion Challenge Blog International. The 1st challenge kicks off on January 1st so make sure you join in the fun and join up as a follower here.

A 2 Z Scraplets Challenge (2nd post for today)

Here's my take on Ingrid Lingman's sketch for the December Sketch challenge at A2Z Scraplets. The first page is based on her sketch, but I had lots of photos that I wanted to include so made an 8 x 8 inch book on the next page. The pics were taken of a fun day at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane.

I used A2Z Scraplets owl and inked, embossed it, and then highlighted the embossed areas with darker ink and glitter.

The second page....

Thanks for looking.
Tina

Crafty Sketches challenge and a Christmas layout.

Guess what.....it's raining again! And the forcast for the whole of January is rain (bar a couple of days) I'm thinking its time to build an ark. The ground is completely saturated.
I've had some time to scrap so I did this layout for the Crafty Sketches December Challenge.

And a heritage one of my mum as a child using Grahic 45 papers.
