The class is packed with heaps of tips and techniques, using Couture Creations dies, embossing folders, and the new release Vintage Rose Garden papers.  The kits are excellent value, and include a die and embossing folder for you to keep.  Book with Scrap With Friends.

Here is a sneak peak of the class....

Grungy Journal Cover

Hi everyone,
It's Tina here with an Art Journal cover I created recently.

I used the new Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden papers, along with lots of dies and some embossing folders.

I embossed using Loren and Velvet Tea Lights Embossing Folders to create extra texture. The diecuts were given a variety of treatments including heat embossing, spraying with shimmer mists, and applying various mediums.

I wanted a textural, grungy look so  used embossing powders in random areas.

Here's the back cover.....

I once again used lots of diecuts and layered them over strips of Vintage Rose Garden papers.

The Artdeco Lace Frame die was used as a stencil and I applied gel medium through it, just make sure to wash your die immediately.

I used strips of Coredinations cardstock and embossed it using Velvet Tea Lights Embossing Folder, then sanded it to expose the core.

The fun thing about a project like this is that there are no rules, you can experiment and have fun, and create the project in a variety of styles such as shabby chic, grungy, or whimsical.

Embossing with your dies!

Hi everybody,
It's Tina here with a couple of embossing techniques to share.

This technique works best on dies with an open center.  Die-cut as normal, leaving the cardstock in the die.

Open an embossing folder, lay the die on top, and then place the tan embossing mat on top of that.  do NOT shut the embossing folder!

Layer between your cutting plates and run through as you normally would to emboss.

As you can see it has embossed the open center of the die.

....And now for a quick card that lets you get double the value from your dies.

This technique works really well with the Ornamental Lace dies.
Stack your cutting plate, die (facing the paper as normal), then your tan embossing mat, and then the other cutting plate.  Run it through your embossing machine as you would an embossing folder.

The die will have embossed a pattern, but it won't have cut.

Mat and attach to a card base.  Attach "Celebrate" die-cut, layered over Ultimate Crafts seam binding.  Cut "Beautiful Butterfly" and embellish with some pearls and the gorgeous new Premium Adhesive Gemstones.
