The Van Roe Tags

Hi everyone!
Today I wanted to show a couple of tags I created using The Van Roe collection.  I love making tags because there's a multitude of uses for them, including as an embellishment on your layout, as a gift tag, bookmark, or pop it onto a card.  They are great to try new techniques out on too!
Cut Sew Jo paper to size and tear across the top.
Die-cut Chandeliers and attach as shown.
I applied Gel Medium through a stencil and once dry, sprayed with my favorite mists to add colour, shimmer and highlight the pattern.
Cut a dress form and ruler from the Sew Jo papers.

Die cut two of Simonetta, one from black cardstock, and one from Sew Jo paper, and layer as shown.  Diecut an Ornate Rectangle from Sew Jo paper, Emboss the decorative outer frame and reverse the inside section. Assemble elements on your tag.

I used the Tied Together die as a stencil and misted over it to create a lovely shimmery background.
I cut a Birdcage and Ornate Rectangle from Core'dinations cardstock, and embossed the center of the rectangle with Peacock Fans embossing folder.
I diecut Celebrate and a Beautiful Butterfly from Core'dinations Glitter Silk cardstock.  I highlighted the bird and outer frame with Silver Glitz'n Glamour, and tied some fibers at the top.
 Here's my two tags together!

Kaisercraft Design Team 2014 Entry

I'm super excited to announce that, starting in June, I will be teaching at the Kaisercraft store in Browns Plains.

I'm also applying for their prestigious design team, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I wanted to share with you two of my layouts which I'll be teaching in upcoming classes, plus a couple of projects created especially for this DT call.

My heritage layout class will be held on Thursday 19th June.

My mixed media class is on Saturday, 28th June, make sure you call to book on 07 38092242.

I created this card using papers and Collectables from the 75 Cents, 'Arty' and 'Journal' clear stamps, Timeless collection ribbon, Printed Tape, Wooden Flourishes, and Paper Blooms.

I altered a Captured Moments6x8' album using a variety of papers, Storyteller Collectables, and various mixed media techniques and mediums.

And the back...

Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope I've inspired you to go create something!

Happy scrapping,
Tina

Lovely layers!

I had quite a few photos taken before and during my daughter's dance team performance at Carols By Candlelight last year.  Some of them weren't perfect but I wanted to include them anyway, so decided to do some Project Life style pages.  I found the Courture Creations and Core'dinations cardstock worked perfectly.  I was able to create the pages quickly with room for lots of photos and journaling.  (Some of the journaling, like team-mates names, will be added after photographing)

I made a feature of my favorite photo of my daughter and one of her best friends, by creating a traditional layout.

Firstly I die-cut these designs from Coredinations cardstock

Hearts cut from vellum and carstock.
 Arrange as shown.
Layer elements to create a focal point.

Strips were embossed and lightly sanded

Emboss a small piece of cardstock with Peacock Fans embossing folder and sand.
So this will sit in my album with pocket pages so I can include lots of photos and still have plenty of room for journaling

I created a number of pocket pages by cutting 4x6 or 4x3inch cardstock, rounding the corners and embellishing by adding dry embossing or diecuts

Core'dinations carkstock was embossed and sanded, with diecut layers added.

I added diecuts to printed papers to create interest.

Smile

One of my favorite things to do when scrapbooking is to make my own flowers, you'll always have co-ordinating blooms and it's a great way to use up those scraps.

I've created a tutorial created this layout using Jo Jo and Oriental Sunshade embossing folders from "Who, What, Wear", and dies from the Momento, and Secret Treasures collections

Cut blue paper 6.5 x 3.5 inch and emboss with Oriental Sunshade embossing folder.  Cut pink paper 2.5 x 8.25 inch and emboss with JoJo embossing folder.  Cut strip of paper 1.5 x 9.5 inch.  After embossing my papers, I sanded the raised edges of the Oriental Sunshade design, and inked the Jo Jo embossing.

I cut a Cappuccino Ornamental Lace Die using the Quick Release paper which made it a breeze to get all the intricate pieces out.
I cut three  Party Banners, and four Retro Flowers from Core'dinations cardstock and paper offcuts.
I inked the flowers and cut a notch into each end using Couture Creations Pointed Non-stick scissors.
Spritz the flowers with shimmery mist and scrunch, allow to dry and then open.  Layer the petals and decorate with Glitz'n Glamour.

Arrange all the layers on the page as shown.

And some close ups for you....
