We got the keys to our new house last night. It's our dream home, but we'll rent it out for a few years so we don't have to move the girls from their schools, etc. It's a beautiful, big pole home on acerage, with polished wooden floors throughout, and big wide verandahs. I still can't believe it's actually ours! Anyway, we have to do a big yard cleanup, and some minor paint repairs before the tenants move in so we'll be spending our weekend there.
Here's a few layouts....
I love the effect of sewing directly onto layouts, though I probably don't do it as much as I'd like.
In this layout I diecut the owl on the Bigshot, embossed it with purple UTEE, then while it was still hot sprinkled on Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter. I heated it again and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then added the eyes (embossed white) and nose (inked black)

My fav layout, had heaps of fun with Tim Holtz and Heidi Swapp masks, using lots of Glimmermists to build up the layers. A great technique for changing the appearance of those patterned papers that you don't really like anymore. Love the new Distress Stickles, they are just gorgeous, the earthy colours are more like a mineral or mica than a glitter. Great for grungy pages!

I love the Prima Paintables, on this one I used Derwent watercolour pencils, & added stitching in silver thread in the corners. The paper is from K & Company, & I used Prima & Heidi Swapp flowers, & Kaisercraft pearls.

RAK Giveaway pics

My youngest daughter's been dancing at the Eisteddfod all day yesterday and they did really well, placing in each section they danced in. We were up at 5 am and didn't get home till about 10:30pm. I was exhausted from just watching them. We've got today off, then the girls compete on Sunday and Monday.
I am hoping to get some scrapping done today after all the boring stuff like food shopping, and cleaning the house. I'm really excited to play some more with the new Tim Holtz Alcohol inks in pastels and brights (another Ebay purchase from USA as they aren't available in Australia yet).
10 hours later.... didn't get any scrapping done except to finish this mini-book I'd been working on for my friend's B'day, so thought I'd post some pics of it.

Class pics
Some photos of todays "Glimmermist Grunge" class. I apologise for the quality of the pics, the colours don't look as good taken under flouro lights. The layouts look so much better in real life
Valda's layout
Rosina's owls looked great, she sprayed them with Glimmermists and then used Metallic rubs.
Denise's creation
Michelle's layout, lots of masking and layering, with lots of earthy colours. The photo doesn't do it justice.
RAK Giveaway
Fab Fundraiser
What a fabulous "Chicks in Pink" fundraiser for breast cancer at Greenbank scrapbook Shop. Met lots of lovely ladies, and even won the lucky door prize. I managed to get 9 layouts done so was pretty happy with that effort. My 8 year old came back with me for the night scrapping session and did three layouts, and was wanting to stay and do more. Here's some of my efforts.
The girls from class will be happy, I finally did a boy layout. It's a bit hard when your short on subject matter having two daughters. Decided to scrap these pics of my crazy little brother on his motorbike.
And some more girly layouts.
This one's done using only cardstock, Glimmermist, ink and some beads, ...oh and a bit of thread!
