January Challenge entries!

Its still raining, so I've been scrapping.  Got this layout done for Scrapping Outback's "White with...    'challenge.  I love the colour combo which was white with a touch of pink, blue, purple, and brown.  Check out their blog for the DTs gorgeous examples.  Heres my take on it....

I Glimmer Misted my white cardstock, and added hand-dyed crochet doiley and lace, plus cut some flowers using Tim Holtz Tattered flowers die.  I added a few more flowers, some pearls, and The Paper Studio "Spare Parts"letters.

The next challenge I had fun with was for the  Brittannalee Stamp & Scrap January sketch challenge.  I loved the sketch, think it worked really well for my LO.  Here's the sketch...
And here's my layout....
I hand-dyed the laces, and used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam on the chipboard, and pink flowers.  It gave it a really nice sparkle.

And I did a third layout, this time for the Manufacturer Challenge at Paper Secrets, with the fab Webster's Pages.  I love their products!

While you're surfing the net make sure you check out Graces blog where she's generously giving away some blog candy.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
Happy scrapping.

Another sunny day in Queensland (LOL)

It poured down again today, and the prediction is more rain coming on the weekend.  We went to Dreamworld and White Water World yesterday, and guess what?  ....yep....it rained!  I checked Foxtel's Weather Channel tonight, and they predict rain for the rest of the month.
I had to detail a car today that had been washed off the road in the flooding.  There were no signs warning the road was under water, so he thought the  water wasn't deep.  When he realised, he tried to reverse and the car just started to float.  He actually floated over the two metre marker.  Luckily the current wasn't strong and he was able to get out of the car, and get to safety on a piece of higher ground.  He was stuck there for a few hours with some other motorists  who helped him push his car back onto the road. He really was extremely lucky.
I don't get much car detailing work in this sort of weather.  I suppose we've got to look on the bright side and think at least I'll get more scrapbooking done!

Here's a few layouts for you....

I embossed the metal foil after I applied it to my chipboard and Alcohol Inked it.  Then I applied Stazon to the raised areas.  I used Crackle Accents in the center to add even more texture.

And some tags  (These were for a challenge, but unfortunately the site closed down due to illness)
The first set all have recycled elements (from this years Christmas cards) as part of the challenge criteria.

Multiphoto layouts

IMG_0649Here’s the other multiphoto layouts I’ve done over the past few days.  I find I tend to stick to a simpler design when using alot of photos to allow the  photos to stand out, and not get swamped by too many embellishments.IMG_0650 IMG_0651 IMG_0652I’ve included a pocket on the back of these layouts to hold the  program from my daughters Awards Night', and information about the awards they received.IMG_0653IMG_0654

As promised...

It was so hot today, the type of heat that just saps your energy. It was wonderful when we got a thunderstorm this afternoon which cooled the air. I'd just been working in the garden, so I just stood in the rain for awhile! Weird...maybe...but it was so refreshing!

I was excited to learn I won a prize in the random draw for the A2Z Scraplets December Challenge. Yay! They are sending me some "Scraplets" chipboard.
What's your favourite thing to do with chippy? I love doing a multitude of techniques on it to give it a truly unique look.

I've got a couple more layouts for you, as I promised yesterday....

I got a few more layouts done last night, and today, so I'll post some pics soon.

Five layouts to share

Here's a few of my "getting through those photos" layouts.
There are times when I'll do heaps of different techniques and spend heaps of time on a layout, but sometimes you need to just get them done, and move on to the next page.

I had heaps of snapshots from my DD's dancing Eisteddfods so have been doing alot of multi-photo layouts. I used these Rusty Pickle papers which were part of my prize from Scrapping Outback's challenge. They were perfect for these layouts.
I made the costumes for this dance, so decided to base the layout around the backstage preparations.  I included a hidden journal block behind one of the pics.
And some photos of an amazing exhibit at the Gallery of Modern Art, I've journalled the story on the hidden tag.
Thanks for looking, I'm off to scrap another page (I love being on holidays!) I'll have some more photos tomorrow.

New Challenge Blog

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful night, and that the new year exceeds all your expectations.

Scrappassion Challenge Blog International is officially up and running!  I'm very excited to be part of the Design Team on this new challenge blog.  Make sure you head over and check out all the lovely examples by the DT, and while you're there, join up as a follower.  For the first challenge we had to choose a word of significance to us for 2011, and do the layout in vintage style.  I've got a few closeups of my layout to show you.

I've been on a roll, getting alot of photos scrapped the past two days. Five yesterday and another two LO's today, which is good for me, because I'm usually a fairly slow scrapper. I got a total of 25 photos scrapped, which hasn't even put a dent in my pile of pics! I'll post some pics of them tomorrow.
