Playing with metals!

Hi everyone, Tina here with a tag I made for a "Metallic" swap. It was lots of fun to make so I thought I'd share my process with you.

I cut two tags and then tore the top third off of one, the bottom section was then covered with metal foil tape.

I embossed this using Classics Embossing Folder.

Cover with black paint, dry it off slightly with a heat gun, and wipe some of the paint off in patches, then dry completely.

Sand the embossed area to burnish the metal foil.

Smear some bronze paint in patches and sand once dry.
Ink the edges of then swipe some metallic paint onto the tag base. Attach foil piece Cut Art Deco Lace Frame from black Core'dinations cardstock, and attach as shown

I cut Key To My Heart and Simplicity Borders, I only ended up using one of the borders and embossed it with an aged embossing powder. The keys were heat embossed with thick metallic embossing powder.

I added a few metal charms, and it was done. The thing I love about creating something like this is that you can use it on a card, a layout, as a special tag on a gift, or as an uber-cool bookmark!
