Secret Garden and My 2Angels

Hi Everyone.

Tina here today,
playing with the gorgeous Graphic 45 Secret Garden Papers, creating two simple, yet appealing layouts.

For the first, I whitewashed the background paper inside my frame to soften it a little.  Do this by using watered down paint, or apply your paint with a wet sponge. (Gesso also works for this if you thin it down a lot with water.)

The Twiddleybitz chipboard leaves were inked to achieve a two-tone effect and the gorgeous flowers were layered amongst the large filigree flower and charms.

I cut the gold flower chain into single flowers, adding them here and there and embellished the pennants with gold rhinestone cup chain.

The chipboard banners were covered with patterned paper.

To make the edges of the banner 'pop', ink them with a contrasting, yet coordinating ink.

I made this second layout with some of my scraps, using a sheet of cardstock as my base. Combining several Glimmermist colours and a Twiddleybitz Chicken Wire stencil, adds some shimmer and sparkle to the cardstock base.

To get a more subtle effect, hold your mist bottle further away from the paper when spraying.

Lots of fussy cutting and layering of pattern paper flowers give the layout all the interest it needs.

Don't forget to put some of the fussy cut flowers up on pop dots to give your arrangement some dimension.

I'm also very excited to be doing a class by Donna Salazar at The Art Studio.  It's a mixed media 3D canvas!  Go and check it out and while you're there make sure you sign up for the newsletters from Scrapbook News and Review as they have amazing prizes up for grabs during the next few weeks for their anniversary celebrations.
